OCN Website Strengthened with Recite Me Accessibility Toolbar

The OCN NI website has enabled the Recite Me Accessibility Toolbar to create an inclusive online experience that allows all website visitors to access online content and services without barriers. The Recite Me toolbar is available to access via the accessibility icon in the header of the OCN NI website and provides support and assistance for website users. The toolbar facilities more inclusive and customisable online experience where website content can be interpreted, read and understood in a way that suits the individual user.  

The Recite Me accessibility toolbar includes a range of tools to support website users including built-in screen reading functionality, reading aids, styling & customisation options, translation into over 100 languages, 65 text-to-speech (TTS) voices and more.

OCN is delighted that its website visitors can now utilise a range of accessibility and language support tools to view the OCN NI website in a way that meets their unique needs. The new toolbar ensures that OCN is aligned with compliance standards as the OCN NI website is now inclusive, legally compliant, and prepared for evolving accessibility regulations.

Recite Me recognised that, “Over 1 billion people worldwide encounter barriers when trying to read and understand content online. This can be due to disabilities, learning difficulties, visual impairments, or if people speak English as a second language.”  In the UK over 25% of the population have a learning disability and many encounter barriers when using digital services due to having a disability, learning difficulty, visual impairment, or if they speak English as a second language. As a UK registered charity, it is part of our diversity and inclusion strategy to ensure our website allows users access to a wide range of accessibility and language support tools to customise their digital experience through Recite Me assistive technology.
