OCN work with a wide range of subject specialists. External Quality Assurers support Centres to put appropriate quality assurance measures in place. Essential Skills exam markers and exam writers contribute to the creation of examination scripts and assessment.

What you need to become an External Quality Assurer
Subject Specialist EQAs must have:
· A relevant qualification, Level 4 or above
· Previous job-related experience or qualification delivery experience in the curriculum area
· A teaching and/or a quality assurance qualification
· Recent CPD in the curriculum area
What you need to become an Essential Skills Marker
Essential Skills Markers must:
· Meet the DEL Circular ES 01/12: Qualifications Required to Deliver Essential Skills in Northern Ireland
· Have previous qualification delivery experience in the curriculum area
· Have recent CPD in the curriculum area
· Not be currently involved in the teaching of OCN NI Essential Skills qualifications.
Markers are contracted on an annual basis and services will be provided to OCN NI through a third-party service agreement.
