What was the main challenge you were facing before working with OCN?
Struggled to encourage pupils to choose languages as a level 2 qualification. GCSE seen as too difficult, with 100% terminal exams a bit part of the cause of stress for pupils.
How did OCN NI help address this challenge?
More accessible assessments for pupils. Easier to demonstrate progress as pupils complete assessments and bank their results.
What were the results or outcomes after using OCN NI Qualifications/Courses? e.g. improvements in the performance of learners, more engagement/participation.
Bar 1 pupil, all pupils who have completed the OCN course here have achieved a level 2 qualification in languages. As we progress through the academic year, pupils are very much encouraged by how accessible the course is.
