Summer Awarding External Verification Arrangements for training organisations and third sector centres

OCN NI is beginning to make External Verification (EV) activity arrangements for Summer Awarding. If you are running Level 2 or Level 3 qualifications with GCSE/A Level equivalency and you require learner results for results days  (Level 3 – 17^th August 2023, Level 2 – 24^th August 2023) please follow the below Summer Awarding guidance:

• Registrations

As you are aware, learners must be registered within 20 working days of their course start date.  Please check that all learners undertaking OCN NI qualifications completing in June 2023 have been registered via QuartzWeb.  Any new/additional registrations must be entered by 31st March 2023.

• Results

These must be uploaded to QuartzWeb by 10^th May 2023 to ensure that all eligible learners receive their results by results day (Level 3 – 17^th August 2023, Level 2 – 24^th August 2023).  

• Sample

We will contact you again in the coming weeks with details of the Run IDs and learners sampled for review.  We will also include contact details for your assigned EV.

• Format of Visit

Your sample communication will indicate whether the visit will be in person or online.  We can however try to accommodate your preference for the format of the visit where possible.

• Adaptations

For academic year 2022/23, in line with the government’s policy to return to pre-pandemic arrangements for exams and assessments, the use of adaptations is no longer permitted to assist in mitigating the impact of the pandemic or in response to public health measures.

For units taught and assessed in 2021/22, some adaptations to assessment may have been permitted.
