Credits & Levels

Units form the building blocks of all OCN NI Qualifications and Endorsed Courses. All OCN NI approved units are assigned a credit value and level and must meet a set of agreed standards.

The units within OCN NI Qualifications and Endorsed Courses include each of the following:

  • Title
  • Credit Value

  • Learning Outcomes
  • Assessment Criteria

Credit Value (size)

All units are given a credit value. This identifies the number of credits a learner can achieve through successful achievement of the unit.  The table below shows the equivalent notional learning time per credit value.
