Suite of OCN NI Digital Skills Qualifications
OCN NI have developed a new suite of Digital Skills Qualifications aimed at providing our educators and young people the opportunity to reskill and develop career opportunities in new industries. The Covid-19 crisis has exposed areas where we need to invest in new skills, such as our digital economy, software development and cyber-security. This new suite of qualifications will provide learners the underpinning knowledge and skills to pursue a career in these areas of growth.
OCN NI Level 3 Award and Certificate in Digital Skills for Educators
The qualifications are suitable for lecturing staff in further education colleges, third sector organisations, school teachers and other education and training providers. The Digital Skills for Educators qualifications have been designed to develop a tutors digital skills, to operate confidently, effectively and independently to enhance learning, teaching and assessment. The qualifications will cover a range of units including:
- Information, data and media literacies
- Digital creation, problem solving and innovation
- Digital communication, collaboration and participation
- Digital learning and development
- Digital identity and wellbeing

OCN NI Level 1/Level 2 Award in Cyber Security
The OCN NI Level 1/Level 2 Awards in Cyber Security will assist learners gain employment in occupations requiring a basic understanding of the safe and secure use of information technology. The suite of Cyber Security qualifications have been designed to develop the skills and knowledge of learners to identify risks to security and how these may be prevented, how to perform basic cyber security precautions on devices and how to manage own personal and organisational information online.
