Delivery and Assessment 2020/2021 under the Extended Extraordinary Regulatory Framework (ERF)
26/10/2020
As the Covid-19 pandemic continues, OCN NI understand the challenges you and your learners may be facing, particularly as a result of social distancing and other local restrictions and containment measures.
For the 20/21 academic year government’s intention is that where assessments can continue to take place under normal conditions, provided these are in a safe manner, centres should continue to do so.
Many Learners have experienced disruption to, or a lack of, teaching, learning and assessment since March 2020. As this year unfolds, it is likely that this will continue to affect delivery and assessment for the rest of the academic year.
OCN NI anticipate that many courses will face compressed teaching time and that there will be a need to maximise the time that is available. Where assessments and qualifications cannot be delivered as they normally would, OCN NI is now developing guidance to help centres mitigate disruption to delivery and assessment so that, as far as possible, learners taking VTQs including Essential Skills qualifications, have the opportunity to receive a fair result and are not disadvantaged by the longer-term impacts of the pandemic.
OCN NI will begin to publish the information and guidance relating to adaptations for assessments and examinations on our website from the 23rd October.
Please continue to check our website regularly for updates and resources during this difficult time.
