Update 07: OCN NI Business Contingency Arrangements - Coronavirus

26/03/2020

At OCN NI we recognise that learners on Professional and Technical Qualifications urgently need reassurance about how their qualifications will be assessed and awarded in the coming weeks and months. As a result, the team at OCN NI have been working closely with the Qualifications Regulators (CCEA Regulation & Ofqual) and other Awarding Bodies to agree a similar approach to the award of Qualifications, so that learners can get the Qualifications they deserve and progress onto further learning and/or employment. Below is a statement issued by Ofqual in relation to this ongoing situation.

Statement on vocational and technical qualifications in 2020

We fully appreciate that this may be a frustrating time for all tutors and teachers. However, the qualifications regulators and awarding bodies are looking to implement a co-ordinated approach in order to promote as much consistency as possible between and within AOs for similar scenarios, in order to provide the fairest possible outcomes for learners.

Rest assured, as soon as we receive further guidance from the qualifications regulators we will communicate their decision with you as soon as possible. We will remain open for business as we have a robust contingency plan in place to minimise the disruption to our services. However, there may be instances when our usual Customer Service Standards are impacted.  Our teams have remote working capability and can communicate with you via Microsoft Teams/Skype as well as mobile phone calls. If you have any concerns or would like to discuss the impact on your centre or learners please contact us on info@ocnni.org.uk  or tel: 028 90463 990.

Thank you for your patience and support.
